Alla Chakir was born in 1955 in the village of Kotlovyna in the Odesa region of Ukraine. From 1972 to 1977 she studied at the Odessa Grekov Art School. Since 2000 she has been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. As a student from 1973 Alla started to take an active part in many group exhibitions in Ukraine. In 1997 her first solo exhibition took place, and since then she has taken part in many exhibitions both in the Ukraine and internationally including Canada, France and the USA.

 

Alla and her family ended up in North Wales in May 2022 due to Russia's attack on Ukraine. They found shelter, friendship, and inspiration in North Wales. Since then, Alla has taken part in several collective exhibitions and one personal exhibition at Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw in Llanbedrog.
