Through the Wild Wood

Most of the rights of way used for recreation today have origins in the ancient tracks of our ancestors. These paths were created to link dwelling places and for trade and religious purposes, although their old purpose is not always obvious to the modern walker without a bit of detective work. Some very old paths, now forgotten and not walked on for hundreds of years, still leave a mark on the landscape if you know

where to look.

None, however, will be as obvious as this autumn coloured path which meanders through a very Wild Wood.

Trwy'r Coed Gwyllt

Gan fwyaf mae gwreiddiau ei llwybrau hamdden cyfoes yn yr hen ffyrdd a droedia ein cyndeidiau i deithio o le I le Crëwyd y llwybrau hyn i gysylltu lleoedd annedd ac at ddibenion masnach a chrefydd, er nad yw eu hen ddibenion bob amser yn amlwg i'r

cerddwr modern heb ychydig o waith ymchwil. Gwelir ôl rhai llwybrau hen iawn, anghofedig bellach a heb eu cerdded ers canrifoedd ar y tir os ydych yn gwybod ble

i edrych.

Ni fydd yr un ohonynt, fodd bynnag, mor amlwg â'r llwybr hydrefol lliwgar hwn sy'n ymlwybro drwy’r goedwig wyllt.
