You, Me and The Cat

The painting was inspired from a story:

One day, according to legend, a man came to the sea to wash himself and a small fish fell into his palms. The fish spoke to the man and said, ‘I will save you.’ The man was surprised and asked the fish, ‘what can you save me from?’ The fish replied, ‘from the flood.’ The fish told the man to place her in a bowl, and when she grows up, release her into the sea and build a boat. The man did just that. During the flood, she came to him and saved him. The fish also warned him to tie the boat to a tree, otherwise the water would wash him away. The water washed away everything... but the man stayed and continued his family line. The sea and land are connected forever.

Tithau, a minnau , a'r Gath

Ysbrydolwyd y paentiad o stori:

Un diwrnod, yn ôl y chwedl, daeth dyn at y môr i ymolchi a disgynnodd pysgodyn bach i gledr ei law. Siaradodd y pysgodyn â’r dyn a dweud, ‘Fe’th achubaf.’ Cafodd y dyn ei synnu a gofynnodd i’r pysgodyn, ‘rhag beth y galli fy achub i?’ Atebodd y pysgodyn, ‘rhag y dilyw.’ Dywedodd y pysgodyn wrth y dyn i’w rhoi mewn powlen, a phan fydd yn tyfu i fyny, ei gollyng i'r môr ac adeiladu cwch. Dyna'n union wnaeth y dyn. Yn ystod y llifogydd, daeth hi ato a'i achub. Rhybuddiodd y pysgod hefyd iddo glymu'r cwch i goeden, neu byddai'r dŵr yn ei olchi ymaith. Roedd y dŵr yn golchi popeth i ffwrdd ... ond arhosodd y dyn a chynnal ei linach. Y cysylltiad rhwng y môr a'r tir yn parhau am byth.
