Piera Cirefice is a freelance Illustrator & watercolourist based in mid Wales with a BA(Hons) degree in Illustration from Falmouth University. 

 

Having grown up at the foothills of the Mourne Mountains the beauty of the outdoors fuels her work, with travel reportage Illustration at the heart of her practice. Combining a love of hillwalking with traditional en plein air watercolour painting, Piera aims to document the landscape and its flora and fauna, as well as capture the experience of being out in the living landscape.

 

These plein air studies have provided an invaluable foundation to her practice, as well as helping inform her Illustrated location ranges. From the Mournes to the mountain ranges of Eryri, the natural landscapes of Wales and the island of Ireland are a continuous source of inspiration for Piera!

​Piera has created a set of watercolours inspired by the famous landmarks of Anglesey’s coastline. From the ancient markers of past civilisations & religious sites to the many lighthouses dotted along its coastline, the landmarks of Ynys Môn tell a story of people past & present & their relationship to our coastlines. Whether it be seeking direction through faith or in the very practical sense of navigating the waters of this island, these landmarks highlight the significance of our human connection to the land.
