Sally Ellis was born in Wales and raised amongst the disused quarries , lakes and woodlands in and around Eryri where she has been inspired by the pure rugged beauty of her habitat. She originally studied Art Foundation at St Mary’s College in Bangor.  Sally takes various commissions and has built up a large body of collectors Worldwide. 

 

Her preferred medium is ink and watercolour and she also uses a variety of other mediums, techniques and subject matters including Lino printing. Sally is interested in Welsh sayings which have inspired her to produce pieces with the hope to set them in stone and preserve the sayings for future generations.  Her popular radical botanical artworks which grow from her imagination are a vessel to channel her emotions and are a portrayal of how she sees and feels emotion in others. Her rhythmic lines can take you on a meditative journey.
